Andy Boyeli, the prolific Congolese striker and top scorer of the Zambian Super League, has signed with Sekhukhune United in the DStv Premiership.
Sekhukhune United, also known as Babina Noko, recently parted ways with Ghanaian forward Michael Sarpong. Sarpong, who previously played for Young Africans, faced difficulties settling in the DStv Premiership due to visa complications, which hindered his transfer.
He had signed a one-year contract, and the club opted not to renew it once it expired. The 23-year-old managed only four starts and contributed a single assist during his tenure.
In addition to his departure, several other players left the club, including Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Edwin Gyimah, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Lebohang Mabotja, Collins Makgaka, and Tashreeq Morris.
Looking ahead to the 2024/25 season, the club has already begun strengthening its squad. Their fourth-place finish in the previous season secured them a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
One notable addition is Njabulo Ngcobo, who joins the team from Kaizer Chiefs, with his contract set to expire at the end of June. Andy Boyeli is also set to arrive in South Africa early next week, having signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional two years.
His remarkable goal-scoring record for Power Dynamos has garnered interest from several clubs, including Cape Town City FC.
